A stint in the hospital

Dave and I had quite a week! On Wednesday we went in for our routine ultrasound and non-stress test for the babies. Our regular Dr. is on vacation so we saw another Dr. in his practice. We learned that our boy's estimated weight is 6lbs 1 oz, and the girl's weight is 4lbs 1 oz. Instead of going home that day I was admitted to the hospital for 3 days worth of non-stress tests and steroid shots (to accelerate lung development). The babies will most likely be delivered early as they believe our girl will do better outside the womb. Our regular Dr. is back later this week so we will having a better idea of WHEN then.
Dave stayed with me at the hospital which was wonderful. When I was admitted I wrote down "James" for Dave as that is his formal name. But then all the nurses noticed me calling him "Dave" it caused all sorts of confusion. One nurse even said, "You know, this happens a lot. Some gals have their husband stay one night, and then their boyfriend stays the next night! Nothing surprises us anymore!" Finally everyone was on the same page and realized James and Dave were the same guy. Staying 3 days at Swedish Medical Center was not that bad...we were in a birthing suite with our own bathroom, jacuzzi tub, cable TV, gorgeous view of downtown Seattle, etc. It was kind of like staying in a hotel except I wore a hospital gown and was awaken each morning for 6am meds and fasting blood sugar! We are home now, and that feels nice. I am now on official BEDREST for the rest of the pregnancy. I am beginning to realize you can only watch so much of the Olympics.
