"Due any day now..."

If you have not seen me recently...you can imagine my stomach is quite large. (Pictures soon) I am now bigger than a full term mom with a singleton. When I do venture out into the world I am met with all sorts of comments from strangers (its amazing how strangers feel compelled to make comments to pregnant women!). Here is a sampling of comments from this last week.

Lady at Safeway, "Any day now!" (At first Dave thought she was telling us to hurry up)
Lady in an elevator, "You've definitely dropped, I can tell."
College-aged guy at Red Robin, "Pregnancy is so beautiful...are you going to fit into that booth?"
Male sales person at Bath and Body works, "Girl, stop using that stomach of yours as a shelf, let me get you a bag!"

I used to tell strangers that I was having twins...however I have learned this often leads to other interesting comments. My favorite to date though are the comments from some nurses at a lab. They approached me and told me they had a bet with each other about whether I was having twins or not. When I told them I was one looked at the other and said, "See I told you. Now you have to buy me lunch!"

At least you are getting those comments and you actually ARE having twins! My friend got those and actually was only having 1. Her doctor actually told her she was "ginormous."

Just think of all the joy you are bringing to the world in the form of free lunches... hang in there, you are almost done!! :)

Cannot believe the one about "dropping!" That is crazy! I have just started to show and I am noticing that once you confirm to people, "Yes, I am pregnant," they feel compelled to rub your stomach. I think I'm going to start rubbing people back just to see what kind of reaction I can get!

That is too funny! I bet you look great. I can't wait to see you this weekend.
I also really love it that people feel compelled to share horror birth stories with pregnant women.
