I'm a little bit country ...
Here's a new pic of our little girl from yesterday's ultrasound. Pretty cute I think.
Karin and I both love holidays, and tonight we were talking about what it will be like to have kids at the holidays. Twin A and Twin B will only be a couple of months old this Halloween. Anyway, I was wondering what we might dress them up as (lady bug, pea pod, egg on toast ala Kym and Aaron's son, Lucas?) The first thing that came to Karin's mind was Donny and Marie Osmond. I think that might be a bit odd. (Karin has since clarified her statement, saying she was kidding.) I'm not even sure Donny and Marie are twins, anyway.

Good news & a bedtime story ...
Today Karin and I had another ultrasound and doctor appointment. Things are looking great! Our little girl was still a bit fussy letting the ultrasound lady get all the measurements we needed, but she finally showed us her right arm and tiny fist. We'll get some ultrasound pics of her up shortly, to add the good ones we already have of her twin bro.
I was reading about how great it is to talk and read to them in the womb, so tonight I camped out next to Karin's belly and read them "Hippos Go Beserk!" It was the first bedtime story I ever read to them. Karin said our little boy liked it so much that he kicked three times while I was reading the story. I think we will try to read to them every night from now on. :-)

Snoogle
Let me introduce you to Snoogle. Or "Snoog" as I sometimes affectionatly call it. This just might be the greatest invention for pregnancy. I love it! I think Dave is jealous though. He complains he can't see me around the mountain of pillow that is Snoogle. Dave is right, Snoog takes up a considerable amount of room in the bed...its kind of like sleeping with a third person. However, I am hooked.

Mexico, "Biggie" & More
We had a great time in Mexico. We saw our friends Phil and Anna get married on the beach near Playa Del Carmen (see photo), spent great time with them and many other friends, made a few new ones, ate lots of good food, swam in the ocean ... you get the idea! Now that we're back, we'll try to be better about updating our blog at least every couple of days.
I came home from work tonight and Karin said, "My belly is so big!" Then I lovingly called her "Biggie." But I quickly found out that only she is allowed to make any comments about the size of her belly.
Karin is feeling the babies more and more, and it keeps getting more exciting every day.

'But I'm pregnant and crazy right now'
So that craving thing? It's real. The other night Karin sent me out for dill pickles and Tuxedo double chocolate cookies. What's weird is that several days later, she hasn't eaten any of the pickles and she threw the cookies out.
The next night, she wanted to go to McDonald's, which is a bit unusual in that we've both tried to avoid McDonald's since reading "Fast Food Nation," and even more weird because SHE HAD ALREADY GONE EARLIER THAT DAY. When I asked her about this, she delivered a new line which is sure to be used again: "But I'm pregnant and crazy right now."

P.S.
Baby B (that is the girl) is laying right under my belly button so she was more difficult to photograph. (Apparently belly buttons get in the way of a clear shot... her little heart is literally right underneath it). So her picture is not as clear as his. Both babies were VERY wiggly during the ultrasound. The technician was trying to measure the boy and the girl kept poking her little hand onto the screen. Hopefully they are playing nice in there.
It's a boy ... and a girl!
Big news today on a couple of fronts! Karin and I found out that we're having a little boy and a little girl! We're very excited. And the other big/great news is that the babies' health is looking good! Karin laughed because it didn't take long after we found out we were having a son for me to ask, "Karin, what if he plays in the NFL?" But seriously, we just dream of them being happy and healthy whatever they do and wherever they go. Pretty amazing stuff. We are going to have a son and a daughter! Check out the latest pics ...

Finally, a belly pic!
OK I just talked Karin into letting me take this tonight. She won't let me take a picture that includes her face! But this will give you an idea of how things are going in the belly area.
Big ultrasound next Monday. We're hoping to find out the genders but it's also a really important bumper-to-bumper check for our two wee ones. So please keep us in your thoughts and prayers!
